How far along? 26 weeks, two days.
Size of baby: Baby is the size of a head of lettuce.
Gender: Baby Girl!
Weight Gain: About 12 pounds so far. Though it feels like a lot more.
Maternity Clothes: I was able to wear some of my specially bought dresses over our wedding weekend in Michigan this last weekend. The dresses were so great and exactly what I wanted for the wedding. I was also able to wear some of my winter maternity clothes while I was in Minnesota that it have been too warm to break out in Texas. It is like I have a whole new wardrobe!
Symptoms: Overall, I have been feeling pretty great, but I definitely feel pregnant these days. Right around Christmas all of a sudden I really felt pregnant. I don't really know how else to describe that. I also feel like I need to go to the bathroom all the time, but I usually don't really need to go. So annoying. My biggest concern at this point is that my ribcage is seriously painful. I think with all the traveling we have done in the last two weeks, my ribcage has taken a serious beating. I feel a lot better when I am not forced to sit straight up, which is hard to do in an airplane or a car. But, like I said, I really can't complain because everything is so minor overall.
Movement: Baby girl is moving all the time! Richard finally felt her move with confidence and can now feel her whenever she starts moving. It is such a crazy feeling and yet I love it. Her movements are definitely stronger now and I can feel her even when I am standing and moving around. I am also pretty sure that she had the hiccups the other day because the movements were smaller and came at regular interval. I am sure that soon enough her kicks will start hurting so I am going to enjoy it while I can.
Sleep: Pregnancy pillows are seriously the best. Since we have spent very little time at home in the last two weeks, I was expecting some rough nights of sleep. I brought my pillow with to Minnesota, so overall I slept fine, but there were a few nights where I did not have my pillow and sleep was a lot harder to get. I try to make up for it by using a million regular pillows, but it is not the same. Basically pregnancy pillow equals life.
Baby Purchases: We received some fun stuff from friends and family for Christmas this year, including a diaper bag, a lovie, a happy mat, books, shoes and clothes. Baby girl is already so spoiled! Richard also got me a great baby book that I cannot wait to start filling out. While we were home, we also bought a fun painting to hang in the nursery and a cute Minnesota ABC book. Other than that, we have been really good about waiting on baby purchases. I finally feel like we have caught up on all of our other expenses (like Richard needing four crowns, yikes!) so we may start buying stuff soon! I will probably wait until after my baby shower to buy anything since it is coming up quick!
Best Moment This Week: Seeing our friends and family that we do not get to see very often. It was especially fun over the holidays and thinking about what it may be like next year with a baby.
Looking Forward To: My baby shower! Less than three weeks until I head back to Minnesota for that. Should be a fun time!
^^Comparison through the weeks. I have definitely grown!^^
