Friday Update

I have been pretty absent for the blog lately, mostly because I am enjoying my time in Minnesota. I figured it was time for an update.

First and most important is that my niece was born on March 16th, 2015 at 3:09 am. I am so happy that I could be here and see her from the very beginning! It is so special and this is the main reason I wanted to be in Minnesota for so long.  I am sure there will be many pictures in the near future.

I had my last day of working at CenturyLink on March 6th. It was a bitter sweet moment when I turned in my badge and my computer. I cried on the way to drop my stuff off even though my last day actually seeing all my coworkers was the week prior. I don't think this will hit me until I actually go to Texas and realize I am not just on vacation.

Richard and I hung out with some of our friends and learned how to play Settlers of Catan. I think this may be a new favorite from now on whenever we all get together. And since we were enjoying ourselves so much, I of course forgot to take a picture.

I went with Richard and his brothers to Chuck E Cheese's. We went during the day while the other kids were in school and his brothers were on spring break so it was not very busy. I think Richard and I had just as much fun playing the games as the boys did.

Before Richard left, we were able to squeeze in some time with my family. Since my dad had been in Mexico, this was the first opportunity we had. We headed out for lunch with them and were only missing my brother-in-law and nephew since it was nap time.

Meanwhile in Texas...Richard has been in Texas for a little less than a week. He headed down there with his brother while he was on spring break. Together they were able to unload our POD and start to get things situated. He also started working on site at his job for the first time in over a year. Things are going great so far for him!

I was able to get some one on one time with my nephew before my sister and her husband made it home from the hospital. We went to a local gym that has toddler activities and it was so much fun to spend some quality time with him. I am usually chop liver when mom and dad are around, but he was so much fun when it was just me.

Lastly, my sister and I went to the Parade of Homes. Not sure if this is everywhere, but every spring in Minnesota, the Parade of Homes makes a select few homes available for public viewing at no cost. So we like to go and walk through a bunch of million dollar houses and dream a little. They always have fun ideas and different layouts that are interesting to walk through.
I have a little over a week left in Minnesota before I head down to Texas so I am going to soak up every minute! It will be weird to leave after being here for so long.
