Weekend Update | Austin

This weekend went by far too fast mostly because it was full to the brim of fun and events.

Friday
We hung out with our friends Friday night in early celebration of my birthday! Since I am going home next weekend, it was the only time we could celebrate. We had a lot of food and some amazing dessert and I really enjoyed hanging out with everybody. This is most of the people we hang out with here in Louisiana. We definitely needed a group shot.

Saturday
Richard and I headed down (over?) to Austin, Texas for the iHeart Radio County Music Festival. It took us a little more than 6 hours to get there. We stopped at an outlet mall just outside of Austin so that I could go to the Loft Outlet and spend some birthday money and use my birthday coupon. I think this was my smallest trip since I discovered Loft.
We then headed out for dinner and I found this place online and we were both super impressed by what we found. It was a small italian restaurant that was a similar concept to a Noodles & Company where you have to order food from the counter and then they bring it out to you. Since we were short on time, it was perfect for us. And it was delicious.
The oil and bread that they gave us was amazing-pretty much the best I have ever had. And since it was so grogeous outside we were able to sit on the patio and enjoy the outdoors. Can you tell we really liked this restaurant? I also got to show off my new boots that Richard's parents gave me for my birthday. So in love!

Then we headed over to the concert- Eric Church, Jake Owen, Dan and Shay, Lady Antebellum, Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Hayes, Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan all performed. Our favorite was definitely Florida Georgia Line  so we both ended up getting a t-shirt for them. We sat next to these two girls that were super frustrating. I swear we have the worst of luck with these situations. One girl spilled beer on me and the other girl had zero concept of space so I had to switch with Richard so that she would stop bumping me. Lets face it, I'm a lot easier to push around than Richard is. I was super impressed by the performers and there were some fun moments. Like when Jason Aldean played Dirt Road Anthem and when Luke Bryan brought a little girl on stage to sing with him and then he could not remember where he had taken her from. We really enjoyed ourselves.
After the concert, we went back to the University of Texas parking lot that we had parked in to find that everyone's car had been ticketed except ours. Either someone stole our ticket off our car or we actually did not get a ticket. But every other car in the lot had Texas plates and we have Louisiana plates so that could be a reason too. I guess we will never know.

Sunday
Before we headed back home we decided to stop and shop a little more since we were on a time crunch on Saturday. We first went to Ikea since we don't have one anywhere close to where we live. It was fun to see since it has been ages since the last time we have been to an Ikea. We found a few good things that I was really excited about. We then headed to lunch at a place called Freebirds World Burrito. It was similar to a Chipotle, but I like it better because they had queso for me and a burrito for Richard. Perfect.
We then headed back to the outlet mall so that I could finish birthday shopping and I found four pairs of shoes on clearance that I am super excited about. Two of the pairs are shoes I have been looking for for a while so I was happy. We then made the long trek back to Louisiana.

Overall we had a great time this weekend and I am so glad that we decided to go to the iHeart Radio concert!

Photography Website Announcement

This announcement has been a long time coming. I am honestly not sure why I have not announced this yet.

I finally created a website for my photography business! I am super excited to share it! My website is www.aleciaraephotography.com.
I created the website using ProPhoto's tools and website design features. I was able to tweak basically everything to make it all my own. I created a new logo in the process as well and I am so in love! I am glad that this adventure is going so well and am hoping that it will continue to grow! So click on over there and check it out!

We're going on a walk

Well we finally did it! On my list of 101 things in 1001 Days, we have go on 30 walks. We have probably gone on far more than 30 walks, but now I have 30 pictures of said walks. It feels amazing to be able to cross this one off my list!
We mostly go for walks after work at a nearby trail. We love this trail because it is exactly a mile loop so we know how far we have gone and we can go more or less depending on how we feel that day. It is also very shaded so it is cooler which is awesome during those super hot, humid, Louisiana summer days. I love spending this time with my husband just the two of us (and the dog of course). We are able to talk about our days and our upcoming plans and any thing else that comes up. Plus, we are getting some exercise and after sitting at a desk all day we both need to move around. I love being outside in the fresh air and this is the best way I know to enjoy the outdoors. This trail is definitely going to be one of the things I miss when we move away. So in the meantime we are going to soak it up and continue to enjoy these beautiful spring days before it gets too hot!
