A Little Break

Today is Tuesday. And I still do not have a weekend update post yet. But I am off all this week so technically my weekend has not ended yet.

We are still visiting family back in Minnesota and will not leave for another five days so I just have not had time to edit pictures and blog yet.

We have done some pretty fun things that I will write about later. Here is a few pictures to give you a little preview.

I did not realize how hard it would be to post pictures and not want to describe them. But I am resisting because I am on vacation.

And I have been able to cross somethings off my 101 in 1001 Days which I am super happy about.

So this is me saying that I will be back next week with a bunch of blogging updates, projects and pictures so stay tuned.

If I do not come back before Thanksgiving, I hope that everyone enjoys their turkey day! And for those crazy people like me and my sisters, I hope you have a successful Black Friday!

First Days in Minnesota

I always find it funny how quickly I get the feeling that I never left. How quickly I forget that I do not live here when I come home to visit. Well there is the part where it has taken me a few minutes to remember which roads lead where. Which is embarassing for me because I used to know them really well. I don't know if this qualifies as a weekend update post but here is what we have been up to the last few days.

Friday
We woke up super early Friday morning to make our 17 hour drive to Minnesota. We both accidentally wore Minnesota sweatshirts and I grabbed my Minnesota blanket for the car. You could tell we were definitely ready to go.

It was a long drive but we did stop at Noodles and Company in Kansas City. We did not get here until 2 in the afternoon and it is sad to say that it is the closest one on our way home. Well I found out that they are phasing out my favorite dish and I am still bumming about it. Guess I have to find a new meal to enjoy there.

I ended up driving a lot more than I usually do because Richard had to do some school work. Boo. I could barely walk the next day because my lower back hurt so bad. Oh well. I feel fine now :)

We finally ended up at my sister's house around 8:30. Richard was then picked up by his dad to spend time at their house. We don't usually stay together which many people find weird but it works for us.

My sisters and I ended up staying up late just chatting. It was nice to talk to them and cry with them. They are the only people I feel like I can talk to about everything that has been happening lately so it was nice to be all together.

Saturday
Saturday morning we woke up and headed out to take some family pictures of my sister, her husband and my nephew. Then we went to lunch with a friend of the family. I also got this picture of my nephew feeding the dog out of her dish. Why is he so dang cute. And his hat looks great thanks to my friend Kristen!

That night we went out with some friends for Richard's birthday to the Happy Gnome. It was my husband's pick and he loved it.

Sunday
I started out the morning with a fun photo session that I am not allowed to share yet. But it was awesome and it made me feel all happy inside. Then I headed over to Richard's parents house to celebrate Richard's birthday. We had an amazing dinner and then we had cake and opened up presents.

After that I spent some time editing pictures while we watched the movie Man of Steel.

Monday
Monday was Richard's birthday so we went to lunch at Cecil's deli in St. Paul. He loves that place, I on the other hand am not a big fan. But it was his birthday so I ate there anyway.

Then we had pizza for dinner and Richard, his brother Christopher and I went bowling together. I think I did a pretty good job of keeping up with the boys even if I did lose.

Tuesday
I went with my sister and my nephew to a baby reading group at the library over lunch. It was super cute. They have a bunch of babies in the same room with their parents and they sing songs and read books together. I am glad I was able to do that. Baby D was so happy to stand up and walk to his momma.

We have already done so much so far and I woke up this morning feeling sad that it is going to quickly. And I still have a week and a half left. Slow down please and thanks.

Happy Birthday Richard!

Happy birthday to my amazing husband. Today he turns 24 years old. I am so proud to call him my husband. I know he will succeed in life and I am excited for his future. He works hard for us and I am very grateful for that. Sometimes it is a little too hard but we will figure that out eventually.

This is his seventh birthday that we have spent together. It is crazy to think about how much our lives have changed.

We celebrated his 18th and golden birthday together.

His 19th Birthday.

His 20th birthday.

His 21st birthday.

His 22nd Birthday.

His 23rd Birthday.

And finally his 24th Birthday.

Happy Birthday Richard! I hope that you enjoy today and can take some time off to celebrate. Love you!

Minnesota Bucket List

My trip to Minnesota is quickly approaching and I am so excited. Two weeks and two days in a place that makes my heart so happy. Every time I go home I feel like I have every minute of the day planned out, but it is necessary so that I can see everybody that I want to see. So here is my Bucket List for things that I want to do while I am home.

- Go to the Macy's Christmas display in Minneapolis with my nephew.

-Go to Unique- my favorite thrift store.

-Eat a delicious Thanksgiving meal. It is my favorite meal of the year.

-Go Black Friday shopping with my sisters. We are those  people.

-Eat at Noodles & Co, Panera Bread and Caribou Coffee. Three places I cannot go to down here.

-Celebrate Richard's birthday. I think we will do a lot of celebrating.

-Go see Hunger Games.

-Get a tattoo in honor of my mom.

-Surprise for Richard. Can't say he reads this sometimes.

-Celebrate my nephews first birthday. He is having a party. So cute.

-See my friends and family.

-Take pictures for people. I am excited for all of my sessions.

-Go to the Holidazzle Parade. Just found out that this is its last year and I am so sad. Can't miss it.

I am so excited as you can see. Let the fun begin!

Weekend Update | Birthday Part 1

This weekend was full of studying and celebrating. We have a lot more celebrating to do for my husband to come so this is only part one.

Friday
We went out to dinner with Richard's faculty and other students. We went to a place called Sundown and it has a patio outdoors that we always sit at. I had some deep fried green beans which are really good. After that we headed home since Richard had to get some studying done.

terrible picture I know but it was dark
Saturday
Richard had to go to school early in the morning to listen to a presentation. So I spent the morning cleaning and watching TV. Originally we were supposed to go to the football game and tailgate, but since it was raining all day we did not go. I was so bored all day that the house was super clean. Richard and I did go to Lowe's to buy some items for my photography for when we go to Minnesota. I bought some PVC piping to add to my backdrop stand, some trim and plexiglass. I will probably do a post about my equipment someday. Then we headed over to a friends house to celebrate Richard's birthday that is coming up. Since his birthday falls over break when everybody will be home, we decided to celebrate early with our friends here.

Our friend Bittani made a cake for Richard and he was in love. He seriously has not stopped talking about it since he ate it. And we still have half of it in our fridge. Later that night we ended up going dancing at a local place. We had a really good time.

Sunday
Sunday was the usual cleaning and getting ready for our trip. I started to gather up my supplies for my photography sessions. I also packed all my clothes for the trip. I like to pick out all my outfits before I leave so that I have everything I need. So I spent a few hours gathering up all my clothes for the trip. And I have a giant suitcase full already.

We will be headed to Minnesota early early on Friday morning! So I have a short week this week and we have our Thanksgiving Luncheon at work as well so it should be a good week! Now all I have to do is finish packing and getting all of our stuff together for our trip! Cannot wait!
