Weekend Review | Bedroom Art

Well it is finals week for my husband so this weekend we spent most of the time at home so he could study. Oh the joys of being married to a student.

On Friday we went out with our friends, Evan and Claire, to a local Italian restaurant. Richard and I had never been there before and it was pretty good. And of course I ordered the fettuccine alfredo. I have ordered that at every Italian restaurant we have been to. Lets just say I am a fettuccine alfredo expert.

Saturday and Sunday I spent most of the days cleaning and preparing for our week long getaway that starts on Friday. We will be heading to Dallas to spend the weekend at the six flags amusement park. I love amusement parks. Then from there we will be driving home to Minnesota and spending almost an entire week there! Eek I am so excited! Anyway back to my weekend. So I cleaned the whole house, cleaned out the car we are planning on taking, and did some laundry. I am always amazed at how much more clothes I feel like I have when they are all hanging in my closet. Who knew.

I also convinced my husband to hang some picture frames in our bedroom finally. My husband gave me the Minneapolis print for my birthday. I then made the subway art for the other two frames. The words describe a bunch of different places that mean something to my husband and I. I love it because it is super personal and it wasn't too hard to make. I made the print with Photoshop and then sent it to Office Depot to be printed.

Please excuse the black curtain. I like my bedroom pitch black so that I can sleep. Our bedroom is still a work in progress. I am hoping to eventually add some more decor to make it pretty. We will see. I am not a big fan of the cream walls but there is not a whole lot I can do about it.

We also took sweet Paisley puppy to the dog park for the fourth week in a row! Yay we are getting so good at this! I also finished reading another book. This one is called Sam's Letters to Jennifer. It was a really quick read, it only took me like a week to read. It was a cute book, but since it was so short there was not a whole lot that happened.

I also needed to switch out our Spring decor for something Summer. So I headed to Hobby Lobby and bought some sand and sea shells to add to my glass canisters that sit on our kitchen table. With a coupon, the whole thing only cost me $10. I love having decor to switch out, especially since I know I can reuse it again next year.

And in celebration of Mother's Day, here is a photo of my sisters and I with my mom on my wedding day. I was sad not to be able to spend Mother's Day with my mom, but we did Skype and I will see her in one week!

Well that was my super exciting weekend. Now I just have to keep the house clean until we leave and pack for my trip. Cannot wait!
